Dear MDAM Members

I hope everyone is keeping well and enjoying the beginning of Autumn.

First and foremost, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended our Annual General Meeting last week. Your engagement and contributions were deeply appreciated. We hope you found the meeting not only informative, but also inspiring and motivating. We take pride in working together as a collective, where everyone’s role truly matters. A special thank you goes out to our talented volunteers and dedicated trustees — your efforts are invaluable, and our success wouldn’t be possible without you!

What’s Happening This Month:

We’re excited to celebrate World Mental Health Day this month! To raise awareness, we’ll be taking a trip to the Museum of Classical Archaeology on Friday, 11th October. We’ll meet outside the Church at 2:00 PM. Please arrive on time to avoid any delays. From there, we’ll walk to the museum, so be sure to wear comfortable, weather-appropriate shoes and clothing. We expect to head back around 4:00 PM, but feel free to stay longer if you wish. Please note that the museum closes at 5:00 PM.

Upcoming Sessions:

  • Pipe Cleaner Bracelets & Leather Keyrings Workshops

Every Thursday this month, we’ll be hosting creative sessions featuring pipe cleaner bracelet-making, followed by leather keyring crafting.
All materials will be provided.

  • Watercolour Landscapes

Join us every Friday for our watercolour landscape sessions. In these workshops, we’ll explore various techniques and design methods while creating your own landscape picture. We’ll be using both watercolour paints and pencils, and, as always, all materials will be supplied—just bring your creativity!

Project Update:

The Evolution of Plants Collaboration

Our exciting collaboration with the Botanic Garden on “The Evolution of Plants” has come to an end. A heartfelt thank you to all the participants who created such beautiful artwork out of recyclable materials. We are grateful to the staff at the Botanics and all the volunteers who made this project possible. We hope you enjoyed working with us as much as we enjoyed partnering with you!
This project not only enriched our knowledge and creativity but also filled us with immense pride. Knowing that our work will educate and inspire future visitors brings us a deep sense of fulfilment. We’ve learned so much, and we’re now more aware and appreciative of the plants around us. We can’t wait to return and see the final results!

Volunteers Needed!

We are still looking for creative volunteers! Many of our popular sessions from the past are no longer running due to a shortage of volunteers. As a small local charity, we would love to hear from anyone who could join us—whether for a single session or something more regular, every contribution makes a difference.

We are also looking for a Garden Leader to take charge of our community garden space. If you have experience, or if you know someone who might be interested, please get in touch. Your support means the world to us and truly makes a difference!

Thank you again for your continued support!

WISHING YOU ALL GOOD MENTAL HEALTH

The MDAM Team
